    • 1/3 CUP SHORTENING
    • 1 SQUARE UNSWEETENED CHOCOLATE
    • 2 EGGS WELL BEATEN
    • 1 CUP SUGAR
    • 2/3 CUP SIFTED FLOUR
    • 1 TSP BAKING POWDER
    • 1/4 TSP SALT
    • 1 TSP VANILLA
    • 1/2 CUP CHOPPED NUTS


    Instructions


    1. HEAT OVEN TO 350 DEGREES
    2. MELT SHORTENING AND CHOCOLATE TOGETHER OVER HOT WATER
    3. GRADUALLY BEAT SUGAR INTO EGGS
    4. ADD CHOCOLATE MIXTURE AND BLEND.
    5. ADD SIFTED DRY INGREDIENTS
    6. MIX WELL AND THEN ADD NUTS AND VANILLA
    7. BAKE IN A PARCHMENT LINED CAKE PAN FOR ABOUT 25 MINUTES OR UNTIL A PICK INSERTED COMES OUT CLEAN
