- 1/3 CUP SHORTENING
- 1 SQUARE UNSWEETENED CHOCOLATE
- 2 EGGS WELL BEATEN
- 1 CUP SUGAR
- 2/3 CUP SIFTED FLOUR
- 1 TSP BAKING POWDER
- 1/4 TSP SALT
- 1 TSP VANILLA
- 1/2 CUP CHOPPED NUTS
Instructions
- HEAT OVEN TO 350 DEGREES
- MELT SHORTENING AND CHOCOLATE TOGETHER OVER HOT WATER
- GRADUALLY BEAT SUGAR INTO EGGS
- ADD CHOCOLATE MIXTURE AND BLEND.
- ADD SIFTED DRY INGREDIENTS
- MIX WELL AND THEN ADD NUTS AND VANILLA
- BAKE IN A PARCHMENT LINED CAKE PAN FOR ABOUT 25 MINUTES OR UNTIL A PICK INSERTED COMES OUT CLEAN
