    • 1 CUP SHORTENING
    • 3/4 CUP BROWN SUGAR
    • 3/4 CUP WHITE SUGAR
    • 2 CUPS BEATEN WHOE EGGS
    • 1 TSP SODA IN 1 TSP HOT WATER
    • 2 1/4 CUPS FLOUR
    • 1 TSP SALT
    • 1 TSP VANILLA
    • 1 PKG CHOCOLATE CHIPS (1 1/2 CUPS)
    • NUTS IF DESIRED


    Instructions


    1. CREAM TOGETHER THE SHORTENING AND SUGARS.
    2. ADD THE EGG AND THE SODA IN 1 TSP HOT WATER
    3. STIR IN THE FLOUR SALT AND VANILLA
    4. ADD THE CHOCOLATE CHIPS
    5. BAKE ABOUT 10 MINUTES AT 350 DEGREES ON A GREASED BAKE SHEET
