- 1 CUP SHORTENING
- 3/4 CUP BROWN SUGAR
- 3/4 CUP WHITE SUGAR
- 2 CUPS BEATEN WHOE EGGS
- 1 TSP SODA IN 1 TSP HOT WATER
- 2 1/4 CUPS FLOUR
- 1 TSP SALT
- 1 TSP VANILLA
- 1 PKG CHOCOLATE CHIPS (1 1/2 CUPS)
- NUTS IF DESIRED
Instructions
- CREAM TOGETHER THE SHORTENING AND SUGARS.
- ADD THE EGG AND THE SODA IN 1 TSP HOT WATER
- STIR IN THE FLOUR SALT AND VANILLA
- ADD THE CHOCOLATE CHIPS
- BAKE ABOUT 10 MINUTES AT 350 DEGREES ON A GREASED BAKE SHEET
