    • 1 1/2 CUPS SUGAR
    • 2 (LEAVE OUT WHITE OF ONE FOR THE TOPS)
    • 1/2 CUP BUTTERMILK
    • 1/2 CUP SHORTENING
    • 1 CUP SEEDED RAISINS CHOPPED
    • 1 TSP SODA
    • 1 TSP CINNAMON
    • 1 SCANT TSP CLOVES
    • FLOUR TO ROLL


    Instructions


    1. CREAM TOGETHER THE SUGAR AND SHORTENING
    2. ADD THE EGGS AND THE BUTTERMILK
    3. ADD THE SPICES AND THE RAISINS
    4. ROLL OUT IN THE FLOUR
    5. USING A COOKIE CUTTER CUT AND PLACE ON A WELL GREASED PAN
    6. BRUSH THE TOPS OF EACH COOKIE WITH THE EGG WHITE AND SPRINKLE WITH SUGAR
    7. BAKE AT 350 DEGREES FOR ABOUT 10 MINUTES
