List of Ingredients
- 1/4 CUP SHORTENING
- 3/4 CUP SUGAR
- 2 EGGS
- 1 TSP VANILLA
- 1 - 8 1/4 OZ CAN CRUSHED PINEAPPLE
- 1/2 CUP MASHED BANANAS
- 2 CUP SIFTED ALL PURPOSE FLOUR
- 1 1/2 TSP NUTMEG
- 1 CUP COARSELY CHOPPED WALNUTS
- 1 CUP SLICED PITTED DATES
- 1 1/2 TBSP OF MELTED BUTTER
- 1 1/2 TBSP LEMON JUICE
- 1 TBSP WATER
- DASH OF SALT
- 2 CUPS ICING SUGAR
Instructions
- CREAM TOGETHER THE SUGAR AND SHORTENING
- ADD THE EGGS AND VANILLA
- ADD THE FLOUR, BAKING POWDER AND NUTMEG
- ADD THE WALNUTS, THE DATES, THE PINEAPPLE AND BANANAS.
- SPREAD IN A GREASED 10 X 15 PAN AND BAKE AT 350 DEGREES FOR 25-30 MINUTES
- COOL TO LUKE WARM
- COMBINE THE LAST FIVE INGREDIENTS- MELTED BUTTER, LEMON JUICE WATER SALT AND ICING SUGAR AND BLEND UNTIL SMOOTH
- SPREAD OVER THE DESSERT AND CUT INTO BARS
