    16 ounces chickpeas, canned (garbanzo beans)
    4 cloves garlic
    8 teaspoons lemon juice
    4 teaspoons olive oil
    4 teaspoons tahini
    cumin to taste

    Recipe



    Put garlic into blender with lemon juice, olive oil, and tahini. Blend until smooth. Add chickpeas a little at a time, stirring in between. If mixture is too thick, add a little water to help blender action. Add cumin to taste. Divide into 8 even portions, approximately 1/6 cup each. Notes: If no tahini is available, you can use 8 teaspoons of olive oil instead. Serves 10
