    Steak: Marinated Flank Steak & Grilled Mushroom

    List of Ingredients

    1/4 cup oil
    1/4 cup soy sauce
    1/2 cup dry red wine
    2 garlic cloves
    1 small onion, minced
    1 1/2 teaspoons ground ginger
    1 teaspoon coarse ground black pepper
    1 1/2 lb flank steak (1 1/2 to 2)
    1 pound medium size fresh mushrooms

    Recipe

    Combine first 7 ingredients in a blender or food processor and puree for 20 seconds. Marinate the flank steak in the fridge for 6-8 hours; remove from fridge about 30 minutes before grilling. Just prior to grilling time, gently wash and skewer the mushrooms through the stems and caps. Prepare a hot charcoal fire and grill the flank steak for 2 turns, approximately 5-7 minutes each for rare and medium rare, respectively. Put the mushrooms on at the same time as the steak, but keep them towards the cooler edges of the fire. Slice the steak thinly at a 45 degree angle. Toss the mushrooms in the juices from the cutting board briefly before serving. Serves 4.
