    6 tablespoons sugar
    2 cups milk scalded
    2 envelopes active dry yeast
    5 cups bread flour
    1 teaspoon salt
    1/2 cup butter or margarine
    Melted butter or margarine

    Recipe



    Stir sugar into scalded milk; let cool to lukewarm (105°F). Sprinkle yeast over the top of the cooled milk mixture; let stand for 5 minutes.Spray a large baking sheet with non-stick vegetable spray.In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt; cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add milk mixture, stirring until dough forms.

    Turn out onto a well floured board; knead 10 times. Roll out to 1/2-inch thickness; cut with a 2-1/2 inch biscuit cutter into an even number of rounds. Place half the rounds on prepared baking sheet; brush the tops with melted butter. Place remaining rounds on top; brush with melted butter. Cover; let rise in a warm, draft-free place until doubled, about 1 hour.Preheat oven to 400°F.Bake 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown. Serve hot.
