    SPONGE :
    1-1/2 cups sourdough starter
    1 cup lukewarm water (105°F)
    2 cups bread flour
    In a large mixing bowl, combine all ingredients; mix well. Cover; let stand in a warm, draft-free place overnight.

    Bread:
    2 teaspoons allspice
    1/2 cup vegetable oil
    1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
    1 cup raisins
    1/2 cup milk, heated to lukewarm (105°F)
    2 eggs, lightly beaten
    2 cups bread flour

    Spray 2 9x5-inch loaf pans with non-stick vegetable spray. Add allspice, oil, sugar, raisins, milk, eggs, and 1 cup flour to sponge; beat until smooth. Spoon into prepared loaf pans. Cover; let rise in a warm, draft-free place until doubled, about 1 hour.

    Preheat oven to 350°F. Bake 50 to 60 minutes or until golden brown. Cool in pans for 10 minutes. Remove from pans; cool completely on a wire rack. Makes 2 loaves
