    Rolls: Sister Schubert's No Knead Rolls

    Sister Schubert's Secret Bread Recipes

    List of Ingredients

    3/4 cup water
    3/4 cup milk
    1/3 cup butter
    3 1/3 cups flour, divided
    1/4 cup sugar
    1 package active dry yeast
    1 large egg, lightly beaten
    1 teaspoon salt
    1/4 cup butter, melted

    Recipe

    Combine first 3 ingredients in saucepan; heat until butter melts, stirring occasionally. Cool to 120-130ºF. Combine 1 1/2 cup flour, sugar and yeast in a large bowl. Add butter mixture and egg to flour mixture; stir until well blended. Add remaining flour and salt, stirring until dough pulls away from sides of bowl. Brush or lightly rub dough with some of the melted butter. Cover loosely; let rise in a warm place (85ºF), free from drafts, 45 minutes or until doubled in bulk.

    Stir dough several times. Spoon dough into greased muffin pans, filling two-thirds full. Brush with remaining melted butter. Cover loosely and let rise in warm place, free from drafts, 30 minutes or until doubled in bulk. Preheat oven to 400ºF. Bake rolls uncovered for 15-20 minutes, or until lightly browned. Remove rolls from pans immediately. Makes 18.
