    Oven Baked French Toast

    List of Ingredients

    1/3 cup butter -- softened
    1 1/2 cups milk
    1 teaspoon vanilla
    12 slices thick bread
    6 large eggs
    1 1/2 teaspoons powdered sugar
    1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

    Recipe

    Adjust oven racks so one is in lowest position and other is in middle. Heat to 425ºF. Using about 2 Tbl. of butter, grease 2 jellyroll pans. Lightly beat eggs with fork in med size bowl. Stir in milk, sugar, vanilla and cinnamon. Dip bread in egg mix, coating well on both sides. Place 6 slices in each pan. Cut the rest of butter into tiny pieces and scatter over bread. Place one pan on each rack. Bake 15 minutes, switching positions of pan once, until bread is golden brown.
