    Amish Country Cookbook Vol III

    2 pie crusts (8")
    1 20 ounce can apple slices, drained
    1/2 cup brown sugar
    3 tablespoons butter, melted
    6 tablespoons maple syrup

    Recipe



    Heat oven to 425¼F. Stir together apple slices and brown sugar. Turn into pastry lined pan. Top with butter and 3 Tbl. syrup. Cover with top crust that has slits, seal and flute edges. Bake for 15 minutes. Remove from oven. Make criss-cross cuts about 1" apart through crust and filling. Drizzle remaining syrup on top. Cover edge with 2 or 3 strips foil to prevent excess browning. Bake 25 minutes longer.
