    3 cups water + juices from berries
    1 1/4 cups sugar
    3 ounces strawberry jello or strawberry Kool-Aid
    1 cup water
    1/2 cup Clearjel or cornstarch
    2 cups frozen strawberries, half thawed -- (2 to 3) or fresh berries*

    Recipe



    Combine 3 cups water/juice, sugar, and jello or Kool-Aid in saucepan. Heat to boiling. Dissolve the Clearjel/cornstarch in 1 cup water and stir into mixture, cooking just until thickened. Cool thoroughly. Stir in berries and chill. *If using fresh berries, increase sugar to 1 1/2 cups. Layer this in dessert dishes with whipped topping or whipped cream. Variation: Use orange Kool-Aid or jello, and then a mixture of pineapple, oranges and bananas in place of strawberries. Yield: 8-10 servings
