    Recipe Introduction

"Simple is good! And while many adults would turn up their nose at these very sweet treats, for Twinkie fans they are pure heaven! A cute and simple centerpiece for a party is a whole line of these ghosts sashaying down the center of the table. These can be made well in advance, but make sure to cover the cut edges of the ghosts with white chocolate if you do to prevent them from drying out. We used white chocolate disks made especially for melting and coating, but any white chocolate should work well."

    List of Ingredients

    12 Twinkies
    1 pound white chocolate
    72 miniature chocolate chips

    Recipe

Slice the Twinkies in half and place on a wax paper lined cookie sheet. Melt the chocolate in the microwave as directed on the package. (If there are no directions, microwave for 30 seconds on half power and stir. Microwave in 15 second intervals on half power, stirring after each time, until the chocolate is smooth and melted. The chocolate will melt more as you stir it so don't skip the stirring step!) Dip the Twinkies into the melted chocolate, using a butterknife to coat it thoroughly and remove any excess chocolate. Add two mini chocolate chip eyes and one nose to each ghost while the chocolate is still melted. You may need to reheat the chocolate occasionally to coat all the ghosts. Let air dry for at least an hour before serving and carefully remove from the waxed paper.

    Makes 24 ghosts.
