    Ham: Hot Ham & Cheese Subs

    List of Ingredients

    *  3 cups pre-shredded cabbage
    *  1/3 cup coleslaw dressing
    *  1 teaspoon Dijon-style mustard
    *  1/8 teaspoon ground red pepper

    Sandwich Ingredients:
    *  4 (7-inch) hoagie buns, split
    *  3 tablespoons LAND O LAKES® Butter, softened
    *  1 pound thinly sliced ham
    *  4 ounces LAND O LAKES® Cheddar Cheese, sliced
    *  2 ounces LAND O LAKES® Monterey Jack Cheese, sliced

    Recipe

    Heat broiler. Combine all topping ingredients in medium bowl; toss lightly. Set aside.

    Place buns onto ungreased baking sheet, cut-side up. Lightly spread cut-sides with butter. Layer ham evenly onto both sides of buns. Broil 4 to 5 inches from heat until heated through (1 to 2 minutes). Top with cheese slices. Continue broiling until cheeses are melted (1 minute).

    Spoon about 1/3 cup topping over cheese on bottom half of each bun; cover with top half of bun. Serve immediately.

    TIP: Cleaned, purchased bagged vegetables, like pre-shredded cabbage, save time and energy when preparing family meals. For the most long-lasting vegetables, check the “best if used by date” on the package before you purchase it. Store the vegetables in your refrigerator. If you use just a portion of the bag, use a spring clip to hold the bag shut before returning to your refrigerator.
