    What the heck. Like rectangular chocolate chip cookies, but richer and chewier.

    1/4 c melted butter
    1 tsp baking powder
    1 c brown sugar
    1/2 tsp vanilla
    1 egg
    1/2 c pecans or walnuts
    1/4 tsp salt
    1 c chocolate chips
    3/4 c flour
    a greased 8 " square baking pan

    Recipe



    Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine the butter, sugar and egg and mix until fluffy with a wire whisk. Add the salt, flour, baking powder and vanilla and mix with a wooden spoon until smooth. Add the chocolate chips and nuts and stir until mixed in. Scrape the batter into the greased pan and bake for about 25 minutes. Cut into rectangles before the pan cools completely.
