No Bake White Choc. Peanut Butter Bars

    Source of Recipe

    unknown

    List of Ingredients

    4 1/2 cups rice krispies
    1 cup toffee bits
    1/2 cup butter
12 ounces white chocolate chips, divided
1 cup creamy style peanut butter
    10 ounces mini marshmallows
    1 cup butterscotch chips
    few drops of milk

    Recipe

Place cereal and toffee bits in a very large bowl; set aside. In a medium heavy saucepan, combine butter, one half the white chocolate pieces, and peanut butter; stir over low heat until mixture is melted and smooth. Add marshmallows and continue stirring over heat until marshmallows are melted. Add melted mixture to cereal, blending well. Evenly spread and press mixture into a 13x9x2-inch baking dish which has been lightly coated with non-caloric vegetable cooking spray. Chill until firm.

To prepare frosting, place remaining white chocolate pieces, butterscotch chips and few drops of milk or water in a small heavy saucepan; stir over low heat until mixture is melted. Immediately spread mixture over chilled cereal mixture. Cool. Cut into 2x1-inch bars. Makes about 5 dozen.

Variations: * Melt 3-ounces semi-sweet chocolate pieces and drizzle in a swirl design over frosting-coated bars before cutting; allow to cool before cutting. * Omit butterscotch chips and melt 12 ounces white chocolate pieces for frosting. Use an additional (6-ounce) package white chocolate pieces in the bars. *Use semi-sweet or milk chocolate pieces in place of white chocolate pieces in bars.
