    Chocolate: Ann's Chocolate Fudge Cake

    "I'm about to pass along a recipe that's a family tradition in the Oliver household-a chocolate fudge cake made from scratch! There is no mix in the world that will ever touch it. My mom (a gourmet cook) created this recipe pre-World War II. It's the way cakes are supposed to taste...absolutely to die for."

    List of Ingredients

    Measure into bowl:
    1-1/2 cup sifted cake flour
    1-1/4 cup sugar
    1 teaspoon baking soda
    3/4 teaspoon baking powder
    1 teaspoon salt
    1/2 cup shortening
    3 squares melted unsweetened baking chocolate
    1/2 cup milk
    1 teaspoon vanilla
    2 eggs, unbeaten

    Recipe

    Beat 2 minutes, low speed. Add additional 1/2 cup milk. Beat 2 more minutes. Pour into greased and floured pan 9 x 13-inch cake pan. Bake at 375 F for about 25 minutes.
