    2 cups firmly packed brown sugar
    2 cups self-rising flour
    1/2 cup butter or margarine
    1 cup milk
    1 egg lightly beaten
    1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
    1/2 cup chopped walnuts

    Recipe



     Preheat oven to 350°F.  Spray an 8x8-inch baking pan with non-stick vegetable spray. In a large mixing bowl, combine brown sugar and flour.  Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.  Press half the mixture into the prepared baking pan. 

    In a small bowl, combine milk, egg, and nutmeg; pour over the remaining flour mixture; mix well.  Spoon over the top of the crumb mixture.  Sprinkle with walnuts. Bake for 1 hour or until a tester inserted in the center comes out clean.  Let cool in pan for 15 minutes.  Invert onto a wire rack; cool completely.
