    Chocolate: Mouth Watering Chocolate Cake

    List of Ingredients

    2 1/4 c Sifted cake flour
    2 t Baking soda
    1/2 t Salt
    1/2 c Butter or regular margarine
    2 1/4 c Brown sugar, packed
    3 ea Eggs
    1 1/2 t Vanilla
    3 ea (1oz) squares unsweetened chocolate, melted and cooled
    1 c Dairy sour cream
    1 c Boiling water
    Butter Cream Frosting

    Recipe

    Sift together cake flour, baking sodo and salt; set aside. Cream together butter and brown sugar in mixing bowl until light and fluffy, using electric mixer at medium speed. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in vanilla and chocolate.

    Add dry ingredients alternately with sour cream to creamed mixture, beating well after each addition. Stir in boiling water. (Batter is very thin.) Pour batter into greased 13x9x2 baking pan. Bake in 350ºF oven for 35 minutes or until cake tests done. Cool in pan on rack. Frost with Butter Cream Frosting. Cut in squares. Makes 16 servings.

    BUTTER CREAM FROSTING: Sift 1 lb confectioners sugar into mixing bowl. Add 1/2 cup soft butter or regular margarine, 1 tsp vanilla and 2-3 tbsp hot water. Beat until smooth.
