    Recipe Introduction


    "Maple and cashews in a delectably rich candy! Each year Tone's sponsors various divisions in the Iowa State Fair's Food Department. This recipe is a past winner!"

    List of Ingredients




    1 cup butter OR margarine
    2 cups brown sugar
    1/2 cup milk
    4 cups powdered sugar
    1 teaspoon imitation maple flavoring
    2 cups cashews chopped

    Recipe



    Grease a 9-inch square pan. Melt butter in a large saucepan over medium heat; add brown sugar. Reduce heat to medium-low and cook for 2 minutes, stirring constantly. Add milk; continue stirring until mixture comes to a full boil. Remove from heat and cool approximately 20 minutes. Gradually stir in the powdered sugar and maple flavoring, mixing vigorously until well blended. Add cashews. Spread in prepared pan. Chill a minimum of 2 hours. Cut fudge into 1-inch squares.
