    List of Ingredients




    3 sticks butter or margarine (1 1/2 cups)
    1 1/2 cups sugar
    2 teaspoons vanilla
    1 egg
    3 cups sifted flour
    1/2 teaspoon baking soda
    1/2 teaspoon baking powder
    6 large or 8 small heath or skor candy bars, chilled

    Recipe




    Cream together first four ingredients. Add flour, soda and powder. Place chilled candy bars either in blender until chopped very fine, or put in double plastic bag and pound with hammer. (Buy the toffee chips folks, it's much easier.) Add to creamed mixture. Line 8" square cake pan with wax paper and press cookie dough into pan.

    Cool a minimum of 2 hours (preferable overnight). Cut into 3 logs. Keep uncut logs and uncut portions of logs wrapped in wax paper or saran and keep refrigerated until ready to slice.
    Slice each cookie very thin (approximately 1/8 "). Bake on ungreased cookie sheet 350° for 5-8 minutes, only until light brown.

    Variations: You cab use equal ounces of toffee chips and one or two 8 oz chocolate bars shaved. Or If you can find them, chocolate covered toffee chips.
