    1/3 cup shortening
    1/4 cup butter, softened
    2 cups flour, divided
    3/4 cup sugar
    1 egg
    1 tablespoon finely grated lemon peel
    1 tablespoon milk
    1 teaspoon baking powder
    1 teaspoon vanilla
    1/8 teaspoon salt
    8 ounces milk chocolate chips

    In a large bowl beat shortening and butter until fluffy. Stir in half of the flour, sugar, egg, lemon peel, milk, baking powder, vanilla and salt; beat until thoroughly combined. Stir in remaining flour. Cover and refrigerate for 3 hours. Preheat oven to 375ºF. Roll dough out onto a lightly floured surface to 1/8-inch thick and cut into 3x1 1/2-inch rectangles. Break candy bars into small rectangles and place one piece on each piece of dough, slightly off-center. Fold the short edge over the chocolate to make a square and seal all four edges with the tines of a fork. Place 1 inch apart on an ungreased baking sheet and bake for 7 to 8 minutes or until edges are firm. Cool on baking sheet for 1 minute before transferring to a wire rack.
