    Chocolate Laced Walnut Pie

    List of Ingredients




    1 9" unbaked pie shell
    6 oz walnuts -or- pecans
    1/3 c water
    1/2 c brown sugar
    1/2 c sugar
    1 c whipping cream
    1 t vanilla
    1 egg
    1 egg white
    1/4 c butter softened
    1 oz semi sweet chocolate
    2 tb brandy -or- water

    Recipe



    Prepare pie crust. Bake at 450¼F for 12 minutes. Lower heat to 300¼F. Toast nuts for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Combine sugars and water in saucepan. Heat to dissolve sugar. Continue cookin over medium heat. Cook for a few minutes until mix begins to carmelize. Slowly whisk in cream. Cook over low heat for a few minutes. Cool 10 minutes. Stir in vanilla. Beat egg with egg white. Whisk into mixture. Add butter and nuts. Pour into pie shell. Bake at 400 degrees for15 minutes. Lower heat to 375¼F. Bake 25 minutes longer. Cool. Melt chocolate. Stir in brandy to thin. Drizzle over pie in a lacy pattern. Serve at room temperature.
