    Bars: 2 pt. Peanut Butter Oat Squares

    Original Poster's Note: This one was so good, even the ladies at work who don't watch their food intake are asking me to make it again!

    List of Ingredients




    2 cups regular oats
    1 cup Rice Krispies Cereal
    1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar (I used light)
    1/4 cup light colored corn syrup
    2 tablespoons reduced calorie stick margarine
    1/4 cup reduced fat creamy peanut butter
    1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract-cooking spray

    Preheat oven to 250. Spray 8 inch baking pan (I used 10 inch pan) with cooking spray and set aside. Combine oats and cereal in large bowl,stir well,and set aside Combine brown sugar,corn syrup, and margarine in a saucepan; cook over medium/high heat until margarine melts,stirring constantly. Remove from heat; stir in peanut butter and vanilla. Pour over cereal mixture. Stir well. Press misture firmly into 8 inch square baking pan coated with cooking spray. Bake at 250 for 45 minutes or until golden. Let cool in pan 10 minutes; cut into squares. Let cool completely in pan

    Cut these bars while they are warm. Once cool, they tend to crumble when cut.


    Makes 16 squares 1 square is 1 serving=2points
