    Drinks: Buny's New Strawberry Smoothie*

    Source of Recipe

    Recipe Introduction

ok, here's my new favorite if I need a cup of fruit for pre-workout meal... thick and creamy and sooo much flavor -- lots of bang for the buck woowoo
This gives you 2 oz protein and 1 cup of fruit, so I need 1 cup carbs in addition to the smoothie.

    List of Ingredients

1/2 cup of frozen chunked up strawberries ( i keep a baggie in the freezer)
1/2 of a frozen banana (I keep these frozen as well with overripe bananas, peeled, stored in ziplock snack bags)

splenda to taste (i usually use about 1-3 tsp depending on how sweet want it)
splash of vanilla, to taste ( i use maybe 1/2 to 1 tsp)
4 tsp of meringue or egg white powder (which is equal to 2 oz of egg white protein)

    Recipe

OK, i throw the frozen fruit into a 1 quart wide mouth canning jar -- toss the egg white powder, splenda and vanilla on top. I add enough water to come about halfway up the frozen fruits -- can add more or less to your taste. The less you add, the thicker and more like a milkshake consistency it will be -- sometimes even have to use a spoon).

I then use hand blender to whip that puppy up and get all the fruit blended completely in.

I imagine this would also be divine with frozen peaches and using a touch of almond extract instead of vanilla.. could also use other frozen berries or maybe even melon or pineapple.. Maybe even just a cup of the strawberries and no banana at all.

I used to use non frozen fruit and just add ice, but that dilutes the flavor.. if the fruit is your "ice" then nothing comes between you and the fruit and it's soooo heavenly!! Almost like soft serve strawberry ice cream.
