    Source of Recipe

    Charley

    List of Ingredients

    8 pitted dates
1 1/2 Tbsp Triple Sec or other orange-flavored liqueur
    1 (3-lb) broiler-fryer, cut up and skinned
    1/4 cup vegetable oil
    1/2 tsp salt
    1/4 tsp pepper
Rind of one orange, cut into thin strips
    1 1/2 cup orange juice
1/4 cup Chablis or other dry white wine
    1 1/2 tsp lemon juice
    3 Tbsp brown sugar
    1 Tbsp prepared mustard
    1/4 cup chicken broth
    1 Tbsp cornstarch
    2 Tbsp cold water

    Recipe

Combine dates and Triple Sec, set aside. Brush chicken with oil; sprinkle with salt and pepper. Place in a lightly greased 13x9x2 inch baking dish.

Combine next 6 ingredients; pour over chicken. Cover and bake at 350F for 45 minutes. Remove cover; bake 30 minutes, basting occasionally. Drain dates, reserving Triple Sec. Add dates to chicken; bake 15 additional minutes.

Remove chicken to serving platter, and keep warm. Stir reserved Triple Sec and chicken broth into pan drippings. Pour mixture into a small saucepan. Combine cornstarch and water, stirring well; stir into broth mixture. Cook over medium-high heat, stirring constantly, until thickened and bubbly. Pour gravy over chicken.
