    This is one of the best tasting soups I've ever made. We never have leftovers. We make a loaf of white bread first, placing slices of the bread in the bowl and ladling this soup on top.

    List of Ingredients




    1/2 cup finely chopped onion
    2 Tbsp butter or margarine
    3 Tbsp minced garlic
    1 can (14 oz) chicken broth
    1 can (10 3/4 oz) condensed cream of shrimp or mushroom soup, undiluted
    2 cans (6 oz ea) shrimp, rinsed and drained Or 1 lb of fresh
    1/3 cup half-and-half cream
    1/4 tsp dried thyme

    Recipe



    In a medium saucepan, saute onion in butter until tender. Add garlic; saute 3 minutes longer. Add broth and soup, whisking until combined. Add remaining ingredients; simmer 15 minutes to blend flavors.

    Yield: 4 servings
