    Everybody eats haystacks differently. Here is Angie's recipe for haystack beans. People can't get enough of them at our free community supper club meals. It is by far our townspeoples' favorite meal!

    List of Ingredients




    3 cups dry pinto beans, sorted and washed
    12 cups water (approx.)
    1 tablespoon sea salt
    1 teaspoon mild chili powder (or warm, if you prefer)
    1 1/2 teaspoon cumin
    1 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
    1 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

    Recipe



    Bring beans to a boil then shut off the heat and soak for one hour.
    After soaking, you may either cook several hours until done (crock pot works fine for this), or pressure cook at 15 pounds pressure for 30-45 minutes.
