List of Ingredients
2 1/2 cups (1 lb.) dried beans (Great Northern or navy)
7 cups boiling water
2 cups tomatoes (blended)
2 tsp. salt
2 Tbso. tomato paste
2 Tbsp. brown sugar (or alternative sweetener)
2 Tbsp. molasses
2 Tbsp. oil
1 large, whole onion
Recipe
Sort and wash beans. Add beans to boiling water. Bring to a full boil.
Turn off heat. Let stand for an hour or more. Bring to a boil or boil for 1 hour. Add all other ingredients to beans. Place in bean pot.
Bake for 1 hour at 350 degrees F. or bake in slow oven for 2 hours at 275 to 300 degrees F.
