3/4 cup wholemeal flour
1 Tbsp. cornmeal
1 Tbsp. unrefined cane sugar
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
3/4 cup soy milk
1-1/2 cups finely chopped onions
oil for frying

Mix dry ingredients together, then add soy milk. Batter should be fairly thick. Add onions and mix thoroughly. Drop by spoonfuls into deep fat. Flatten patties slightly when you turn them.
