Another favorite 'cheese recipe'
We use this one more like a dip....put it on chips.
We also use it over macaroni as in 'macaroni and cheese'
My son who was raised vegan and now eats some dairy prefers this cheese to the dairy cheese.
This does not remotely taste anything like cheese to me.... it should have been named something else. But, it is a favorite at our house.
List of Ingredients
1/2 c roasted cashews
2 1/2 T. cornstarch
1/2 sweet red pepper
1 1/4 t salt
2 T. fresh lemon juice
1 c water
2 T nutritional yeast flakes
1/4 c oat flakes
1 t. onion powderRecipe
Blend well Add 1 1/2 c boiling water and cook until thick. Use warm or cold. Keeps in frig for about a week.
