    BLACKBERRY-APPLE BARS

    List of Ingredients

    Crust:

    1 cup whole wheat pastry flour
    1/2 cup oat bran
    2 cups rolled oats
    1 cup sucanat (or alternative sweetener)
    3/4 cup canola oil

    Filling:
    1 cup blackberries, fresh or frozen
    1 Granny Smith apple, medium sized, shredded
    1/2 cup fruit sweetened jam

    Recipe

    Prepare crust:
    In a large bowl combine the dry ingredients. Then stir in the oil. Mix well. Set aside 1 1/2 cups of the crust mixture for topping. Press the remaining crust into an oil sprayed 9 x 13 inch pan.

    Filling:
    Mix all filling ingredients together. When well blended, spread evenly over crust. Sprinkle the rest of the crust mixture on top, evenly covering the fruit. Pat down gently with your hands.

    Bake at 350 degrees for 45 - 55 minutes. The top will begin to brown. When cool, cut into 2 inch squares and serve. Enjoy!
