Carob-Apple Brownies

3/4 cup brown sugar or Sucanat
1 cup shredded raw apple
3/4 cup oil
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
3/4 cup carob powder
2 cups rolled oats
Recipe
Combine sugar or Sucanat, apple, and oil. Beat until well blended. Add remaining ingredients. Mix. Let stand for 10 minutes for oats to absorb moisture. Turn onto oiled pan (1 1/2" thick). Use approximate 8 x 8 dish.
Bake at 350 degrees F. for 25 minutes. Cut into squares when cool.
