Recipe Introduction
I used to date an Armenian from Kuwait whose mother grew up in Bourj
Hamoud,
Lebanon. He used to tell me my hummus was almost as good as his mom's.
List of Ingredients
1 can drained garbanzo beans/chick peas (reserve liquid)
crushed garlic to taste
1/2 c. fresh lemon juice
1/2 c. tahini
1 tsp. ground cumin
1 tsp. salt or to taste
paprika to taste
olive oil as desired
pita bread
Recipe
Blend first 6 ingredients in food processor until smooth, adding enough reserved bean liquid to even out the consistency. This should look like a spread, not like wet crumbs. Also be alert not to make the spread too
thin.
Transfer dip to bowl/container, sprinkle with paprika and drizzle with olive oil. Tear pieces of pita and scoop up some hummus. Enjoy!
PS: You can, of course, use dried chick peas. Be sure to cook them first,
