List of Ingredients




1 cup white cornmeal White Lily or Martha White preferred, but any good
meal
will do
1 teaspoon baking powder check date for freshness
1 teaspoon table salt
1 Tablespoon sugar
1 cup plain flour
1 liquid egg replacer
3/4 cup soy milk
1 dash red pepper paprika
green onion tops -- peeled, chopped
1 tablespoon onion -- peeled, grated


Recipe



The key to this recipe is the green onion tops.
Sift dry ingredients into bowl. Beat egg replacer with milk, and add this to cornmeal mixture. Add onion and paprika. Drop by spoonful in hot deep fat (375F) and fry until brown. This makes approximately two dozen.
Note: I would scald the corn meal with 1/2 cup boiling water, let it sit 5 minutes and proceed and reduce soy milk to 1/2 cup. Nita
Drain in a wire basket.
