    Building Soup

    Source of Recipe

    Rose
I fill my soup kettle about half full of water and bring to a boil.
I chop up about 4 carrots...add and cook two minutes...
Chop up about 4-6 potatoes add and cook two more minutes...
    Chop an onion and add
Add about two cups of Vegeroni large elbow (any noodles will
    work...but, these are really nice).
Add about 2 cups of broccoli florets.
    Cook approximately 10 minutes....
Then add 1/2 cup cashews (toasted and whizzed) in a cup or two of
water....(add as much water as you want to make the soup as juicy as you
    like it)
Then add about 2 T. chicken seasoning and salt to taste..........
You could thicken this with flour or corn starch but, my kids prefer this
    nice and "brothy"
We had this last night for supper......and my kids just went on and on about
how good it was. Even Brian likes it......I figure if it keeps on bringing
the kids home......I'll keep on building it.......

Oh yes, the last time we got cashews Bill decided to can them. Seems like
we put them in the oven in jars with lids about 1/2 hour at 200
degrees......they sealed and it gave the nuts a nice toasted
    flavor......
