1/4 cup water
1 1/2 pounds mushrooms -- sliced
1 bunch scallions -- chopped
2 cloves garlic -- MInced
4 ounces canned chili peppers -- chopped
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
1/4 cup sherry -- or apple juice
1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce --
vegetarian freshly ground black pepper -- to tasteRecipe
1. Place the water in a large pan or wok, bring to a boil, and add mushrooms, scallions, garlic, and chilies. Cook, stirring, for a minute or 2, then add remaining ingredients.
2. Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently, until all the liquid has been absorbed, about 10 - 12 minutes.
