White Wings flour packet
List of Ingredients
- 3 Cups self raising flour
- 1 T sugar
- 1/3 Cup butter (80g)
- Jam and thick cream to serve (cool whip)
Instructions
- Pre-heat oven to 220C (400F). Sprinkle flour over a flat baking tray.
- Sift flour into a medium bowl. Add sugar. Using your fingertips rub butter into flour mixture until it resembles fine breadcrumbs.
- Add milk. Use a flat bladed knife to mix until dough begins to come together. Turn onto a lightly floured surface and nead gently until dough comes together.
- Flatten dough with palm of your hand until 2cm (1 inch) thick. Use a 5cm (2in)cutter to cut out scones. Place onto baking tray 1 cm apart. Bake for 14 - 16 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Serve warm with jam and cream.
- NOTE: For buttermilk scones replace milk with buttermilk.
