    Baked Ham and Cheese Ring

    Source of Recipe

From "Tasty Ultimate" by Buzzfeed, Inc.

    Recipe Introduction

"Entertaining? Give this crafty party dish a ring. It all starts with your favorite crescent-style dinner rolls, which you unfurl to create the base for a layered, luscious slice of heaven. Since your main ingredients come from the meat and cheese cases at your local store, this deli is definitely going to be your jelly. Mozzarella cheese comes in part-skim or full-fat versions—either works fine here."

    List of Ingredients

    â—¦ 2 (8-ounce) cans crescent roll dough
    â—¦ 1 cup shredded low-moisture mozzarella cheese (4 ounces)
    â—¦ ½ cup sliced pepperoncini
â—¦ ¼ cup packed fresh basil leaves
â—¦ 6 ounces deli-style sliced salami, each slice folded in half
â—¦ 6 ounces deli-style sliced ham, each slice folded in half
    â—¦ 4 ounces sliced prosciutto
â—¦ 8 slices deli-style Provolone cheese, cut in half
â—¦ Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
â—¦ Olive oil and balsamic vinegar, for serving (optional)

    Recipe

Preheat the oven to 375° F.

Open each can of dough and unroll the dough, separating it along the perforated lines into triangles.

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Place a 5-inch-diameter bowl right-side up in the center of the baking sheet. Arrange the dough triangles around the bowl so they resemble a starburst pattern, spacing them evenly and overlapping them slightly.

Layer, in this order, the mozzarella, pepperoncini, basil, salami, ham, prosciutto, and Provolone on top of one another in a ring around the bowl. Remove the bowl and season the filling with salt and pepper. Fold the tip of one dough triangle over the filling and tuck it underneath itself. Repeat with remaining triangles until the filling is enclosed.

Bake until the dough is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbling, about 30 minutes. Transfer to a wire rack and let cool for 5 to 10 minutes. Transfer to a serving plate and cut into slices. Serve with a small bowl of olive oil and balsamic vinegar in the center of the ring for dipping, if you like.

    Serves 8
