Beer-Batter Mushrooms

- 24 mushrooms
- 1 package batter mix (eg, commercial "Mushroom Batter" mix or Bisquick)
- 1 cup beer
Instructions
- Wash mushrooms and trim stems; but do not completely remove all of the stem. Heat oil in a deep fryer or deep skillet with enough oil to cover.
- Mix batter according to package directions, except use the beer as the liquid instead of water or milk.
- Coat mushrooms with batter, then deep-fry until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
These are delicious with Ranch dressing for dipping.
