    Cheddar Fondue

    From "Gooseberry Patch Classics: Appetizers"

    List of Ingredients


    • ¼ cup butter
    • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
    • ½ tsp salt
    • ¼ tsp pepper
    • ¼ tsp mustard
    • ¼ tsp Worcestershire sauce
    • 1½ cups milk
    • 8-ounce package Cheddar cheese, grated


    Instructions


    1. Melt butter in a saucepan; whisk in flour, salt, pepper, mustard and Worcestershire sauce until smooth. Gradually add milk; boil for 2 minutes or until thickened.

    2. Reduce heat; add cheese, stirring until melted. Transfer to fondue pot or slow cooker to keep warm. Serve with bread cubes or pretzel sticks.

      Makes 2½ cups.
