Creamy Chipped Beef Dip

Recipe Introduction
"This recipe for creamy chipped beef dip is a hybrid of Aunt Lori's Cheese Ball and my friend Corrie's dip that she brought to a dinner party when we were in our twenties. Good heavensit's creamy, savory, salty, nutty, and has a little tang from the sour cream. You can stir it up in advance, spread it into a pretty pie plate, and bake it just before serving time. I usually serve it with crispy crackers, though it's equally delicious with hunks of toasted sourdough bread."
List of Ingredients
◦ 1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, at room temperature
◦ cup whole sour cream
◦ 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
◦ 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
◦ 1 (2 -ounce) jar dried beef, chopped
◦ 2 or 3 green onions, chopped
◦ to 1 cup chopped pecans
Recipe
Set the oven to 325 F. Lightly grease a 9-inch pie plate or an 8-inch square baking pan.
In a bowl, mix the cream cheese, sour cream, cheddar, Worcestershire, dried beef, and chopped green onions until everything is well combined. Spoon the mixture into the prepared baking dish and scatter the chopped pecans over the top. Bake for 35 minutes, or until the dip is melty and the pecans look toasty and delicious.
Makes one 9-inch pie plate or (8-inch) square baking dish
❧ Note:
Instead of a pie plate or baking dish, you can spoon the mixture into a hollowed-out sourdough round and place it on a sheet pan. The baking time will be about the same.
