    Gouda Shrimp Puffs

    List of Ingredients


    • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
    • 1/4 cup butter
    • 1/2 cup water
    • 3/4 cup plus 2 Tbsp flour
    • 3 eggs
    • Dash of hot sauce
    • 1/4 tsp salt
    • Dash of pepper
    • 1 cup shredded Gouda cheese
    • 1 Tbsp chopped chives
    • 1 (4-1/2-ounce) can shrimp, drained and chopped


    Instructions


    1. Heat vegetable oil to 350 degrees (F) in an electric skillet.

    2. Melt the butter in a medium saucepan. Add water and bring to a boil. Add flour, stirring until mixture leaves sides of pan. Remove from heat. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well at medium speed with an electric mixer after each addition. Stir in salt, pepper, hot sauce, Gouda cheese, chives and shrimp.

    3. Drop mixture by teaspoonfuls into the hot skillet. Fry about 5 minutes or until golden brown, turning once. Drain on paper towels. (May be kept warm in a 200-degree oven for about 1 hour before serving.)

      Makes 3 dozen.
