Gunsmoke Stuffed Mushrooms

List of Ingredients
- 1 lb. large mushrooms
- 1 stick margarine
- 1/4 cup chopped onions
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano
- 1 Tbsp chopped parsley
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 egg, beaten
- 2 Tbsp Parmesan cheese
- Freshly ground pepper
- 1/2 cup crushed, seasoned croutons
- 1 (4-1/2-ounce) can deviled ham
- 1 (8-ounce) can water chestnuts, chopped
Instructions
- Remove stems from mushrooms, and chop. Melt the margarine in a skillet. Add mushroom caps and stir to coat. Remove.
- Add chopped mushrooms, onions and garlic to skillet. Cook over low heat until pulpy, about 10 minutes. Preheat the oven to 325 degrees (F).
- Mix all the remaining ingredients, then add the chopped stems. Mix well. Stuff caps with mixture. Bake for 30 minutes.
Enjoy these with a green salad.
Makes 8 to 10 servings.
