    Gunsmoke Stuffed Mushrooms

    List of Ingredients


    • 1 lb. large mushrooms
    • 1 stick margarine
    • 1/4 cup chopped onions
    • 1 clove garlic, minced
    • 1/2 tsp dried oregano
    • 1 Tbsp chopped parsley
    • 1/2 tsp salt
    • 1 egg, beaten
    • 2 Tbsp Parmesan cheese
    • Freshly ground pepper
    • 1/2 cup crushed, seasoned croutons
    • 1 (4-1/2-ounce) can deviled ham
    • 1 (8-ounce) can water chestnuts, chopped


    Instructions


    1. Remove stems from mushrooms, and chop. Melt the margarine in a skillet. Add mushroom caps and stir to coat. Remove.

    2. Add chopped mushrooms, onions and garlic to skillet. Cook over low heat until pulpy, about 10 minutes. Preheat the oven to 325 degrees (F).

    3. Mix all the remaining ingredients, then add the chopped stems. Mix well. Stuff caps with mixture. Bake for 30 minutes.

      Enjoy these with a green salad.

      Makes 8 to 10 servings.
