Maple-Glazed Chicken Wings
Source of Recipe
From "Maple Syrup Cookbook" by Ken Haedrich
Recipe Introduction
"The chili sauce in this marinade from the Citadelle cooperative provides a nice contrast to the maple's sweetness. The wings are good out of the oven, but I also like them grilled (over medium-high heat, turning frequently, until thoroughly cooked)."
List of Ingredients
â—¦ 1 small onion, chopped
â—¦ ½ cup pure maple syrup
â—¦ 5 tablespoons chili sauce
â—¦ 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
â—¦ 1 tablespoon prepared mustard
â—¦ 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
â—¦ 2 ½ pounds chicken wings (about 18)
Recipe
Combine the onion, maple syrup, chili sauce, vinegar, mustard, and Worcestershire in a shallow dish.
Add the chicken wings to the dish, turn to coat, and marinate for at least 4 hours in the refrigerator, keeping them covered and turning occasionally. The wings can be marinated for up to 2 days.
Preheat the oven to 400° F.
Arrange the wings in a shallow baking pan so they are not touching one another. Discard the remaining marinade. Bake for 20 to 30 minutes, until golden and crispy, turning the wings every 5 minutes to make sure they brown evenly.
Makes 4 to 6 appetizer servings
