    Mushroom Turnovers

    List of Ingredients


    • -- Crust --
    • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
    • 2 cups flour
    • 1 cup butter
    • .
    • -- Filling --
    • 4 cups mushrooms, chopped
    • 2/3 cup chopped green onions
    • 2 Tbsp butter
    • 1/3 cup sour cream
    • 2 Tbsp flour
    • 1/4 tsp thyme
    • 1/4 tsp salt
    • .
    • 1 egg white, beaten
    • Sesame seeds


    Instructions


    1. For the crust: Blend all crust ingredients together and chill for 1 hour.

    2. Saute the mushrooms and onion in butter. Add sour cream, flour, thyme and salt. Cook a few minutes more.

    3. Roll out half of the dough at a time to 1/8-inch thickness and cut with 2-1/2-inch round cookie cutter.

    4. Place 1/4 teaspoon of the mushroom mixture in the center of each dough circle. Fold over and press edges gently with fingers. Transfer turnovers to a lightly greased baking sheet. Finish sealing with fork.

    5. Brush each turnover with egg white and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake at 350 degrees (F) for 20 minutes.
