Party Cheese Ball
Source of Recipe
From "The Good Home Cookbook" by Richard Perry
List of Ingredients
- 2 scallions, trimmed and chopped
- 1 clove garlic
- 6 (3-ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
- 2 cups shredded sharp Cheddar cheese (about 8 ounces)
- 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon prepared horseradish
- 1 ¼ cups finely chopped pecans or walnuts
Instructions
- Combine the scallions and garlic in a food processor and process until finely chopped. Add the cream cheese, Cheddar cheese, Worcestershire sauce, and horseradish and process until smooth.
- Transfer the mixture to a large piece of plastic wrap and shape into a ball. Wrap the ball and place in a deep bowl to help keep its shape. Refrigerate until firm, at least 1 hour.
- Unwrap the ball. Place the nuts on a plate and roll the cold cheese ball over the nuts, pressing them into the surface to adhere. Rewrap and store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
Remove the cheese ball, unwrap, and let sit for about 1 hour to soften a bit before serving.
