List of Ingredients
- 8 Tbsp (1 stick) unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup Louisiana-style hot sauce (plus extra for serving)
- 1 Tbsp packed light brown sugar
- 1 Tbsp garlic powder
- 1 Tbsp onion powder
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1/2 tsp freshly ground pepper
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 4 lbs. chicken wings (about 18)
Instructions
- In a small saucepan set over medium heat, melt the butter. Reduce heat to low and add all ingredients (except for the chicken wings). Cook, stirring occasionally, for about 10 minutes, until the mixture is well blended and bubbling slightly. Remove marinade from heat and let cool to room temperature.
- Put wings into large bowl, add marinade, and toss to coat. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate 4 to 8 hours.
- When ready to cook, prepare charcoal fire or preheat gas grill for direct cooking over medium heat. Remove the wings from the bowl. Discard the marinade. Grill the wings for 25 to 30 minutes, turning once, until crispy. Serve with extra hot sauce on the side.
Makes 6 servings.
