Recipe Introduction
"Nachos are an easy comfort food, but with steak instead of ground beef, these nachos take tasty comfort to a whole new level."
List of Ingredients
â—¦ 1 ½ pounds skirt steak
â—¦ ¼ cup soy sauce
â—¦ 2 tablespoons lime juice
â—¦ 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
â—¦ Salt and pepper to taste
â—¦ 1 (15-ounce) bag cantina-style tortilla chips
â—¦ 2 cups Monterey Jack cheese, shredded
â—¦ ½ cup jarred jalapeño peppers (more if you like your nachos spicy)
â—¦ 1 cup diced tomatoes
â—¦ ½ cup diced red onions
â—¦ 1 avocado, peeled and chopped
â—¦ ½ cup fresh cilantro, chopped
Recipe
Preheat the oven to 400° F.
Lightly spray a baking sheet with cooking spray.
In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, lime juice, and vegetable oil. Generously brush both sides of the skirt steak with the soy sauce mixture. Place the remaining sauce in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add the skirt steak and cook 5 to 7 minutes per side or until desired doneness. Remove from the skillet and set aside to rest.
Spread the tortilla chips out on the baking sheet.
Thinly slice the steak and place the strips over the tortilla chips. Add the Monterey Jack cheese, jalapeño peppers, tomato, and onion.
Place in the oven for 10 minutes or until the cheese is nice and melty. Top with avocado and cilantro before serving.
