    Texas-Style Stuffed Jalapeños

    Source of Recipe

    Adapted from www.cooks.com

    List of Ingredients

    • 8 large jalapeños
    • 1 pkg. (8 ounces) cream cheese (regular or reduced-fat)
    • 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
    • Dash of garlic powder
    • Dash of salt
    • 8 slices hickory-smoked bacon

    Instructions

    1. Preheat the oven to 450º F.

    2. Split the jalapeños in half lengthwise and remove the seeds and ribs.

    3. In a medium bowl, mix the cream cheese, Cheddar cheese, garlic powder and salt. Stuff the pepper halves generously with the cheese mixture.

    4. Cut the bacon slices in half so you have 16 pieces. Wrap a bacon slice around each pepper half or place it on top.

    5. Place the peppers on a sided baking sheet and bake 15 to 20 minutes, or until the bacon is crisp and the cheese is bubbly. Remove from the oven and cool slightly before serving.

      Serves 8
